Martwayne | Power Through Fashion: The Short Fashion Course for Beginners

The Short Fashion Course for Beginners

If you are thinking of plugging into the fashion industry and have no idea how to go about it or you are a complete novice, then our Short Fashion Course for Beginners is just for you!  What we do best at Martwayne is help you "turn your love for fashion into a viable business".

About the Short Fashion Course for Beginners:

The Short Fashion Course for Beginners provides a solid foundation for those who would like to start off a career in the Fashion Industry.    The Course teaches the basic yet vital parts of fashion as a discipline and as a career, in addition to the creative, practicals and business sides of fashion.

You will learn about the Industry, the various opportunities available as well as the business sides of fashion - particularly how to charge for your products and how to relate with your customers.  And of course, you will learn how to sew using simple projects, understand the basic principles behind pattern-making and best of all, understand proper finishing in preparation for our other Short Courses.

It is the first of 5 sewing Courses and when you complete this Course, you move on to the next Short Course, either the Bodices & Dressmaking Course or the Design, Fashion Illustration & Computer-Aided Design Course.

Fees and Duration:

There are 2 options available for this Course:

- A weekday option for those with a more flexible schedule and who can attend classes thrice a week (on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays);

- A weekend option for those who have full-time jobs, in which case, classes happen on Saturdays.

The weekday option will last for 4 weeks and the weekend option will last 12 weeks since classes happen on Saturdays only.

Classes start at 12 noon and end at 5pm prompt on weekdays and 6pm on Saturdays (with the exception of Session 1, where classes will begin by 2pm on a Saturday).

The fees for the Course are N60,000 and there is an additional one-off fee of N10,000 for your toolkit and an extra N10,000 refundable caution fee to cover damages and extensions to the Course making a total of N80,000.

Start Date & Venue:

We typically announce a start date for a new Stream.  However, if you miss the start date, do contact us and we can run your own timetable for you.

Our classes take place at our Training Centre in Surulere, Lagos, about a 2 minute drive from the National Stadium.

How to Register:

Registration is easy!  Simply pay the required fees by cash or online transfer into the "Martwayne Limited", 023 710 3843 at any GTBank branch.

    1. Trust me, it is not that heavy that you cannot bear... especially in the light of how much you would make from the knowledge that stays with you forever and a skill which you can immediately begin to use to make money right from Day 1. It all depends on how you look at it really. I think you should give it a shot!

    1. Hello Anonymous,

Yes there is room for instalmental payments but we cap it at a maximum of 2 instalments - the deposit is 85% and the balance of 15% is due during the Course. Re the fees, we wish we could but sadly they are fixed.

Hope to see you soon at Martwayne!
