Launching our Short Fashion Course for Beginners: Start Date - 28th February, 2015

Phew!  So I just finished working on the flyer not too long ago and it was quite a mission.  I usually find it difficult to talk about a course without a flyer so now I am good to go... thankfully! :-D

Great!  So you read about our post about our new Fashion Courses at Martwayne.  If you did not, you can read it here by clicking on the link:

I have edited the post to include the fees and the duration so you are all aware of what each course entails ahead of time.  So now we are launching the very first Course, our new Basic Fashion Course for Beginners.  Yaye! And I am about to give you all the details! :-D

So I had this chat I had with someone just yesterday on how she has always wanted to go into fashion.  She has this great job but still has that inner nudging about fashion and she has decided to do something about it.

Here is an extract of our conversation (posted with permission of course but edited for anonymity):

Just in case you were wondering, the "Babes" thing comes from one of the rules of a FB group I belong to.  Every member must include the prefix "Babes" when addressing another lady in the Group.

And I am sure she is not the only one.  So if you are thinking of plugging into the fashion industry, our Basic Fashion Course for Beginners is just for you!  What we do best at Martwayne is help you "turn your love for fashion into a viable business".

About the Short Fashion Course for Beginners:

Similar to our Level 1a of our previous Foundation Course in Fashion Design, the Short Fashion Course for Beginners provides a solid foundation for those who would like to start off on a solid foundation.

The Course teaches the basic yet vital parts of fashion as a discipline and as a career, in addition to the creative, practicals and business sides of fashion.  You will learn about the Industry, the various opportunities available as well as the business sides of fashion - particularly how to charge for your products and how to relate with your customers.  And of course, you will learn how to sew using simple projects, understand the basic principles behind pattern-making and best of all, understand proper finishing in preparation for our other Short Courses.

Fees and Duration:

There are 2 options available for this Course:

- A weekday option for those with a more flexible schedule and who can attend classes twice a week (on Tuesdays and Fridays);

- A weekend option for those who have full-time jobs, in which case, classes happen on Saturdays.

The weekday option will last for 5 weeks (a bit longer than our Level 1a since we included a few more things) and the weekend option will last double the time since classes happen once a week.

Classes start at 12 noon and end at 5pm prompt (with the exception of Day 1, where classes will begin by 2pm).

The fees for the Course are N45,000 and there is an additional one-off fee of N7,500 for your toolkit.

Start Date & Venue:

The course will begin on the 28th of February, 2015, (which is a Saturday) at 2pm for both the weekday and weekend classes.  This only happens with the first session which is a presentation.

Our classes take place at our Training Centre in Surulere, Lagos, about a 2 minute drive from the National Stadium.

How to Register:

Registration is easy!  Simply pay the required fees by cash or online transfer into the "Martwayne Dynamiques" account, 101 411 8569, at any Zenith Bank branch.

Once this is done, please notify us through any of the following means so we can prepare for you before the classes begin:

Thank you so much and enjoy your day!
