Welcome Note!

Welcome to Martwayne! Yes this site is about fashion - no excuses for that - BUT we will be talking about fashion from a different perspective... as a tool for business success!

Everyone loves to look good and yes, majority of us love fashion! But we all know that fashion goes wayyyyy beyond stitching and there is a lot more to "it" than mere sewing!

SO

"Fashion Beyond Stitches" will discuss how to turn your love for fashion into money-spinners, sharing knowledge, ideas and skills necessary to run successful fashion businesses.

Oh of course this blog will not be complete without our very own T.Williams ranting and raving about her personal challenges as a fashion entrepreneur in the Nigerian Fashion Industry. But don't worry, there are also happy days and all her personal stuff will be filed under the label "T.Williams".

SO enjoy, follow & subscribe to our blog, post your comments, ask questions, offer advice, and spread the link! Cheers!

"How to Sell Your Clothes & Make a Profit on Your Clothing Line" - The Theme for FEC 6

The fundamental problem of every designer... and indeed every entrepreneur out there.  But it is worse with fashion designers.... especially because many of us undervalue our services for the sake of increasing our client base.  Too much work for too little pay!  And then we find ourselves struggling to make ends meet... unable to meet up with our bills at the end of the month!

As I said in my previous article, many of us confuse profit with turnover and at FEC 5, we realized that really... enough designers are undercharging for their services.  And that is what FEC 6 is about!  How to value your services, sell your products and reach a wider market and most importantly make a profit or at least set up structures to enable you make a profit in the long run!

Great!  So here is the mail I plan to send out advertising the Course.  FEC 6 is next Saturday and I look forward to you registering for the Course.  As always, we have a guest facilitator, one I know the participants will LOVE TO BITS!  And I really am looking forward to learning from him as well.

  1. Lovely!!! This training course should be extended to other parts of Nigeria where there are up and coming fashion designers. In the future, we can also benefit from your wide knowledge of the fashion world and its business side.
